Wellbeing @ Tumbi
Experience the supportive heart of TLSC Tumbi Umbi Campus through our dedicated House system, structured around our eight unique houses, each led by a passionate House Leader.
Our system ensures every student feels valued, understood and cared for throughout their educational journey. Whether through mentoring, guidance sessions, or fostering a sense of community and belonging, our House Leaders cultivate an environment where students thrive both academically and personally.
At TLSC Tumbi Umbi Campus, our house system isn’t just a program, it’s a commitment to nurturing the wellbeing and success of every individual.

Visible Wellbeing
Visible Wellbeing emphasises practical, visible strategies and the use of wellbeing literacy. Integrating wellbeing into the daily routines and culture, making wellbeing visible through specific, observable practices and behaviours and utilising strategies to help students and staff recognise and understand their own wellbeing.
Visible wellbeing in high school can help students feel happy and healthy. When students feel like their emotions and thoughts are understood and taken care of, they enjoy learning more and get involved in fun activities at school.
These efforts not only help them do better in school but also teach them important skills like being strong when things get tough, understanding others' feelings, and knowing themselves better. By making mental health and happiness a big deal, Tumbi Umbi Campus give students what they need to handle tough situations in school and in life, making sure they can succeed and feel good about themselves.
Sapphire - Our wonderful therapy dog
Sapphire, our Dogs Connect trained therapy dog, works three days a week to support our school community. With her boundless love and social intelligence, Sapphire brings comfort, connection, and calm to everyone she meets.
Her presence is a daily reminder of joy and well-being. Sapphire is our "jolt of joy"—always ready with a little wag of her tail and a moment of connection that brightens our day.
Sapphire truly embodies the heart of our Campus, making a difference every time she’s here. We cherish her as a key member of our team.
How we support student wellbeing
Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.
We do this through:
- teachers who help students feel welcome and included
- access to school counsellors, school psychologists and specialist staff
- programs that support health, social skills, attendance and positive behaviour
- help for students who are new or changing year levels
- clear expectations for behaviour and respectful relationships
- staff who get to know each child and work closely with families
- developing health care plans for students
- open communication about wellbeing and support.
