Under departmental regulations and in line with the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Policy, participation in practical subjects requires students to wear approved footwear.
The only approved footwear is a shoe with firm leather upper and of stout design. Shoes must be black leather and have no mesh. It is compulsory to wear approved footwear for practical work in science, technology, technics, and visual arts lessons.
Thongs, open type sandals or shoes, canvas type shoes and/or gym boots, shall not be worn since there is the possibility of injury through spillage of hot liquids, metals, or the dropping of heavy or sharp instruments, tools, etc in any area of the campus. The traditional shoe or desert boot is the only approved footwear for practical lessons. Participation in these subjects is compulsory for every student.
Thongs, backless shoes, and Ugg boots are banned. They are considered unsafe on campus. Students who wear these items to campus will be required to contact parents and arrange for suitable footwear before leaving the deputy principals' supervision.
