Students needing medication

With proper authority and training, the campus can oversee the administration of prescribed medications to students.

For this to happen, parents/carers need to complete a prescribed medication notification form available from administration. This form requires a medical practitioner to give details of medication, dosage, and method of administration along with their signature.

Parents/carers work with the principal and first aid officer to ensure that an accurate health care plan is in place for the students requiring prescribed medications. This is to ensure that everyone knows what the issue is, how it is best managed and what will happen if an emergency arises.

Arrangements of administration of prescribed medications are made:

  • on enrolment
  • whenever a medical condition arises
  • whenever the treatment of an existing medical condition changes.

All cases are handled confidentially, however, staff are notified of the medical needs of students to ensure that proper arrangements are in place for every change of campus routine including excursions.
