At the Surf Life Saving Central Coast (SLSCC) Awards of Excellence held on Saturday night, Faythe was named Rookie of the Year for the Central Coast branch—an incredible honour, especially considering she was selected from 14 outstanding rookies across the region. She will now go on to represent the Central Coast at the Surf Life Saving NSW (SLSNSW) Awards of Excellence, competing against Rookie of the Year recipients from the 10 other branches across the state.
Faythe has been a proud member of Shelly Beach Surf Life Saving Club since 2015. Over the years, she’s grown into a passionate and committed young leader, currently serving as:
• Patrolling Member
• Co-Junior Club Captain
• Assistant Age Manager
• Water Safety Officer
She’s completed an impressive 206.5 patrol hours over just two seasons—133 of those this season alone. For context, the average patrol hours completed at Shelly Beach SLSC this season is around 66 hours, making Faythe’s contribution truly exceptional. Her service extends beyond her home club, with patrols also completed at The Entrance, Crowdy Head, and Pacific Palms Surf Life Saving Clubs. These are considered priority clubs, meaning they often have smaller patrolling teams and rely on volunteers like Faythe to help keep their beaches safe.
We at Tumbi Umbi Campus would like to congratulate Faythe on her remarkable achievement & also thank her for her service to the community.
